This week has been full of house projects and experimenting in the kitchen. For the last year and a half, I have been on a health journey, changing my eating habits and implementing excercise into my daily routines. My eating habits took a gradual change from an unhealthy style of regularly indulging in my favorites, such as pizza and pasta, to a Whole30 and Paleo Lifestyle.
However, I tend to run out of ideas for things to cook and get sick of the same things when I'm on the Paleo Spectrum of eating. I get bored with just the simple, basic, only whole food meals. This then inspired my need for trying some new things, experimenting, and the urge to welcome a much desired Fall Season. What better way to welcome in Fall than with Pumpkin, even though it is still 95 degrees?! Looking through Pinterest, I found a recipe for Paleo Pumpkin Pancakes that sounded perfect for a Sunday morning. It's rare for me to find a paleo baking recipe that I have all the ingredients in my pantry AND don't involve the use of bananas. (I have a deep hatred for bananas and might need some inner healing.)
Anyways, long story short, my beautiful, perfect Pinterest inspiration turned into an epic fail. They didn't stick together like they should've and instead crumbled into pieces. My perfect Instagram moment became a crumbled mess. However, the fruit of my labor, still tasted good. It was a great gentle reminder that even though it didn't look like what I had intended, it wasn't a waste. There is fruit in the process of learning and growth. Life doesn't always have to look completely perfect for social media. Sometimes we have to let real life happen.
